I really, really love art nouveau stained glass windows. Over the course of the next year I am sure I will end up painting quite a few. I'm using the flowers from my own garden as inspiration.

Many people don't know that a chameleon's colors are not so much about blending in (although they are good at that, too), but often about their mood, the temperature, and many other factors.

I worked ahead because the next few days will be busy.
Jan 7 ACEO: I always loved the Jugendstil/ Art Nouveau stained glass windows in Frankfurt. Here is my own attempt at a little bit of that style. I made the designs up myself, based on the "whiplash" curves and style of the time, I think I'll have to practice a little more.

Jan 8 ACEO: Another Jugendstil/ Art Nouveau tulip window. I like the way this one turned out better. The 'whiplash' lines are looking much whiplashier... and yes, I am making up words. :o)
On a side note, while these don't look as complicated as some of the other paintings, they required a VERY steady hand to make all those thin, parallel lines of the lead...

...in Germany we used to light fireworks and sparklers for New Years... fond memories...
A few of my readers have asked me what an ACEO is.
ACEO stands for "Art Cards Editions and Originals." These little 2.5"x3.5" gems are highly collectible pieces of art, and can be made in any variety of materials (watercolor, oil, ink, acrylics, pencil, collage, even fabric). They can be traded and collected, or sold for pennies all the way up to thousands of dollars.
